Build a more diverse team for your charity and understand how to elevate your recruitment strategy with our new FREE equal opportunities reporting.
What is equal opportunities reporting?
Equal opportunities reporting (sometimes known as a diversity monitoring) helps you track the diversity of your applicant pool and compare it to those that you hire. This information is crucial to identify any potential bias in your recruitment process and take informed steps to address it.
What does CharityJob’s equal opportunities form collect?
Our short, anonymous form gathers demographic data from candidates when they create a CharityJob account or at the point of application. Our form covers gender identity, age, disability, ethnic group, sexual orientation, religious beliefs and socio-economic background.
We’ll only share candidates’ data with recruiters if they tell us to when applying for a job via our website. And their data will stay completely anonymous during the hiring process.
Here’s what the form looks like to a candidate:
What will I see as a recruiter?
Once you’ve posted at least three jobs using equal opportunities reporting, each with at least one candidate marked as ‘Hired’ in CharityJob Recruiter, you’ll get an anonymised report showing the profile of your applicants, and those you’ve hired, helping you identify any gaps in your recruitment strategy.
How to enable the tool and view reports
Using our equal opportunities reporting tool is simple. Here’s how you can get started:
Post a job with us using our CharityJob Apply application method: When creating a job post on CharityJob Recruiter, select ‘Quick Apply’ as your application method.
Enable the tool during job posting: Then, under ‘Application method’ select ‘Yes’ to 'Would you like candidates to complete our equal opportunities form?'
View your reports: Click ‘More’ and then ‘Equal opportunities report’ within CharityJob Recruiter. Here, you’ll see a report showing the demographic profile of your applicants and those you’ve hired when you’ve met the requirements (at least three jobs all with a candidate marked as ‘Hired’).
Why use it?
It saves you time: Our tool automatically collects and analyses the data all in one place (when you choose to use it). No more distributing forms, manual data entry, or analysis. You can use the saved time to act on your findings.
Understand your pipeline: Learn about who you’re currently attracting in terms of demographics and where gaps are.
Compare the diversity of applicants vs hires: See if there’s a mismatch between those you’re attracting and those you’re hiring.
Identify areas for improvement: Use the findings to build an inclusive, data-driven recruitment process.

A note about the tool
We created this tool because we're passionate about fair recruitment in charities. However, collecting demographic data is complex and there's no one-size-fits-all approach. So we recognise that our tool has some limitations.
While we hope it works for your charity, we understand each charity's needs are unique. We welcome your feedback on the form and the tool. We'll keep developing it based on input from you and from candidates.
